Sensory kits are available at the Circulation and Youth Services desks for in-library use and check out. Sensory kits are for everyone, regardless of age or medical diagnosis.
We recognize that the bright lights, noise, and busyness of library and other spaces can sometimes be overwhelming or uncomfortable. Our kits have a variety of tools to help cope with the effects of overstimulation.

Each kit includes calming items, fidget items and communication tools such as:
- Noise-reducing earmuffs, sunglasses and other sensory-minimalization tools that help patrons have more control over the level of light and noise in the library
- Fidget items that can act as an outlet for anxiety and provide positive tactile stimulation

Borrowing Guidelines
You can check out a Sensory Kit for a duration of two weeks. This item is eligible to be placed on hold. If there are no holds on the item, it’s also eligible for renewal. Ask staff for a kit during your visit.
