Who Can Get a Card?

You can get a free library card if you live, work, or own property in Culpeper County or live in a surrounding county: Albemarle, Fauquier, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Orange, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Westmoreland. Also included are the cities of Charlottesville and Fredericksburg.  

You’ll need to provide a photo ID or proof of address.

How Do I Apply?

All ages are welcome! A parent/guardian must sign the application for children under 18.

Apply Online

Adults can apply for a card online. The library card will be mailed to the provided address within 3-5 business days.

Applications for patrons under 18 must completed in person at the library with legal guardian present.

Apply in Person

Anyone can come to the library with their ID or proof of address to apply for a card. You can print the attached PDF and bring it with you.
